HTC’s Snap is a very important WMS: it is one of the first devices which gets a processor which breaks the 300MhZ barrier which was observed by almost all past WMS devices. With a decent-looking keyboard, it could be all that Palm’s Treo 500v never was…

SmartphoneDaily got their hands onto a preliminary unit, and generally liked what they saw:

the HTC Snap is a decent business device, far better than I was originally expecting but still nothing revolutionary. Inner Circle is a brilliant feature …, and the keyboard is also very impressive.

I doubt it will have the same crossover appeal as the Nokia E71 or the BlackBerry Curves, but does give a solid Windows option for those looking for an email-oriented device.

One especially interesting point related to web browsing – if I understand them correctly, this Windows Mobile 6.1 device is powered by Internet Explorer 6.
