HP’s iPaq Voice Messenger is a very interesting review sample due to its form factor which allows for a less wide device due to the keyboard. Let’s see if the company managed to leverage a benefit…
Our first competitor is Palm’s rather wide Treo 680. The pictures speak for themselves:

The XPERIA X1 is considered an extremely sleek smartphone…and ties with the Voice Messenger.

Nokia’s 5800 XPressMusic has often been ridiculed for its weird form factor (very high, but slim) – another tie:

The Voice Messenger’s closest sibling is HP’s Data Messenger, which is quite a bit bigger:

In the end, HP has not created a particularly small device (when compared to dumbphones). The Voice Messenger definitely is slim, but not excessively so. However: larger devices tend to be more usable. Tune in soon to find out if this is true for the Voice Messenger..part three of the review is upcoming shortly!
