Just in case anyone of you still waits for the Shadow II (there are many better options available): the latest rumored shipping date puts the release onto the 28th of January 2009.
While this means that the Shadow II will not be used as shadowy stocking stuffer this year, the Christmas buying season probably si more or less irrelevant for this device anyways.
The reason: I predict that T-Mobile will pitch this box against a variety of high-end “dumbphone smartphones” like the Facebook phone peddled by Three UK with great success. Such sales occur via carriers with a contract…unlocked sales are almost unimportant in this market…

You say that there are better options available. How would you know? Have you used this phone? What do you know about it other than specs? What phones are better?
Hi Greg,
sorry for my slow reply!
If you look at devices like the Treo 500v, the upcoming HP boxen or other machines which have 3G, the weaknmesses of the Shadow II become clear.
Keep in mind that this device was IMHO designed more than three years ago…its specs are similar to the ones on my QTEK 8500!
All the best
